“Immersive… Reimagined…Revolutionary: The future of shopping beckons”, and “Redefining the customer experience through immersive technology” are just two of an exciting series of conference sessions unveiled for NRF 2020 taking place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York from 12-14 January. They perfectly reflect where retail needs to be and needs to focus in 2020.

Deloitte’s Global Powers of Retailing 2018 study shows that over 90% of worldwide retail sales still take place in the physical store. As recent history tells us the need for retailers to remain relevant to the consumer is vital. For this reason, bricks & mortar stores continue to focus on finding that sweet spot which aligns staff and technology with in-store layouts that inform, educate and entertain.

In the UK, the recently re-opened John Lewis store in Southampton has raised the bar in terms of providing that experiential environment.  Although, it’s still a concept store, it’s a template for reinventing the Department Stores of the future. With pop up workshops ranging from photography to calligraphy, gadget play areas and an in-house cookery school are some of the exciting attractions on offer.  This is a reflection on the way people shop has fundamentally changed.

In a world where differentiation can make the vital difference between success or failure, this re-imagining brings consumers, staff and technology together to provide that immersive customer experience.

That alignment of technology and people is where SpacePole Inc., subsidiary of Ergonomic Solutions, the creators of the SpacePole brand of technology mounting & mobility solutions, will focus its showcase on booth 3773, in the exhibition area at Retail’s Big Show.

Products such as our SpacePole A-Frame™ universal tablet enclosure provides a customer interface for standalone tablet applications for a wide range of in-store services such as customer information, product look up or sign in.  It can also be used as a space saving Tablet POS.  A-Frame is in service with leading retailers in the UK such as Sainsbury’s and Tesco, as well as entertainment and airport currency exchange organisations around the world. With great looks, excellent security, cable management and a range of mounting options, this is an ideal solution for interactive customer touchpoints.

The key to delivering a great customer experience using tablet driven applications is to make sure that the technology delivers on a practical basis, and a number of considerations should be taken into account to ensure a successful deployment.

For those static applications, where really is the best place to mount the device? Are they attended or used in a more remote location and will they need to be removed on a regular basis? What level of security is necessary and what type of mounting solution is appropriate?

A visit to our booth will demonstrate how SpacePole Inc provides that key to unlock the benefits that using this kind of technology can offer. We solve those operability challenges wherever and however you choose to use your device.

Throughout our 23-year history we have been at the forefront of providing technology mounting solutions that enable the latest technology to improve the customer and operator experience in both static and mobile applications.

We supply over 60% of the world’s top 50 retail organisations – and with over 8 million unique installations, you can rely on us as your trusted partner as you implement that technology to create that re-imagined retail experience.

Come and find out more.  See you at NRF 2020!
